Overdue

Tada! Found the lead. After my last post I had another good hunt for it and there it was amongst my nail polishes. Of course! Where else would it be?! So anyway, without further ado, my Christmas post, about 4 days late.

Christmas Day was pretty good as far as Christmas days go. Surprised myself by not waking up till 9, I'm normally up first thing, and after waking Dad and the brother up, we opened presents. I loved everything I got, most of it I knew I was getting but Mam did surprise me with a few little things.

My cardigan came on Christmas Eve but I patiently waited till the morning before opening it and even though I don't think I ordered the size I tried on, it fits nicely, not too baggy but not tight. And it's so comfy and warm. Clothes wise I got some topshop basic long sleeved tops, floral pyjamas and a vintage jumper and mittens from the brother (in the end I bought him nothing btw, he wouldn't tell me what he wanted.) Also got the new Ipod Nano, Benitint, some nice shampoo, a curling wand, some books and some marker pens. From my family I'd just asked for money so I ended up with a good amount. Enough to justify indulging in some sale shopping I think. Here's what I ended up wearing.

For our dinner we went to my auntie's. Stayed there till about 4ish then went to visit my grandma who's in hospital. Gosh, that isn't half a depressing place to be on Christmas Day. Grandma was feeling good though so it wasn't too bad though, seriously made me think how lucky I was though. I mean there were loads of people who didn't have any visitors, alone on Christmas Day. :( But as I said she was okay, so it wasn't as bad as I though it would be.

From there we went straight to the my other Aunty's from the other side of my family (the wilder side) and the house was full and pretty crazy. Stayed there for a few hours before finally going home and watching some Christmas TV. The Royle family - so funny!

So overall, Christmas Day was spent in 4 different locations, with many different people, eating way too much food, wrapping and unwrapping many presents, knocking back a few different drink concoctions, and a good few hours of trying to get the Ipod working (I finally succeeded.)

x

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas. It's a bummer it's over, but hey, New Years Eve's tomorrow!

I did have loads of posts planned and written, Christmas posts, the lovely presents I received, outfit posts etc etc. But... I seem to have erm misplaced my camera lead and I don't really wanna have loads of posts without photos on. So, bare with me, I WILL find the lead, even though I have been looking since Christmas Day, and normal blogging will resume as soon as possible. :)

Still haven't managed to go sale shopping. Me and mam were planning on going to Newcastle on Tuesday or Wednesday, but I was pretty ill on both days so it didn't happen.

Finally have some plans for New Year I think, hope they actually happen and an impromptu snow shower doesn't ruin them like last year. Hope yours is great whatever you get up to! Okay, back to revision.

Here comes Santa Claus

Just a quick post to say, hope you all have a great Christmas, that you get to spend it with who you want to, and that Santa is kind to you :)

Now that all of my presents are now wrapped and under the tree, I'm watching the Grinch, again, and feeling very festive.

Today I'll just be pottering around getting ready for tomorrow doing my nails etc. May even fit some revision in seen as though I doubt I'll be doing any for the next few days. Then tonight, I'm off to church like a good little Catholic girl then to an Indian restaurant with some of the family.

Next post will be after Christmas, maybe Boxing Day, maybe the day after and hopefully I'll have some outfit posts and other interesting things to show you.

Until then, Merry Christmas!!!

Almost done

Finally started the Christmas shopping yesterday and got most of my presents. Only need to buy for mam dad and my brother, cause me and my friends always agree not to spend out hard earned (yeah) and limited cash and just have a little get together instead (which we had last night.) Bought Mam and Dad a CD each then got Mam a Clinique mascara and Dad some slippers. There already wrapped and under the tree. Still don't know what to get my brother. Suggestions of what to buy a 22 year old would be appreciated.

I also bought myself The Grinch on DVD. It was only £3 after all and I've been wanting it for ages. I Then got out of HMV, after making the parents stand outside so I could get their presents, told my mam I'd bought it and her face kind of dropped. She'd bought me it for xmas. Bummer.

Also bought these lovely River Island shoes and this top to wear on Christmas Day.

Festive fingertips

After breaking up from Sixth Form yesterday, (well officially today but I refused to go in to be a loner in two pointless lessons) I thought I'd do my nails and make them look a little Christmassy. When I say Christmassy, I mean stick a few stars on and add a bit of glitter. So here's the end result.

I used the Nails Inc Victoria & Albert polish and then added bog standard pink glitter and stars and covered with the Nails Inc top coat. I had to add a few top coats to make sure the stars stuck on so hopefully it won't chip and will stay on for a while, well until I decide I'm bored of them!

Christmas is now only 4 days away and I still have no presents. ARGH! However, I'm off to the Metro tomorrow so I should be able to get them all there. Still have no idea what to get though, I'm rubbish at buying presents.

Might have start some revision today. Last year I left it till after Christmas but I really need to do well. 2 of the 3 exams are already resits so I can't mess them up again. I better get cracking!

Drew Barrymore - Well I have to admit that even though she was always my favourite angel I've been more interested in her style than her acting career lately. Her outfits always look like they've been effortlessly thrown on and her hair is bloody gorgeous. I want it! I love the way that her style has certain 'I don't give a f***' about it and after seeing her on many interviews she comes across as a very likable person.

Not Long Now

Last night we finally put up our Christmas tree and now I'm officially in the festive mood. Christmas is exactly a week away and I cannot wait. I have to say I do love Christmas but after last year's I was slightly underwhelmed and felt like it just went too quickly. I'm still looking forward to it though, I just hope it'll be a good one.

When I was younger, and believed in Santa, it was all about the presents, but now that I kinda know everything that I'm getting and know that Mam bought them all, it's more about 'family'. Sounds cheesy I know. But I love getting together with the rest of my humongous but weirdly wonderful family. Love how everyone gets a little tipsy (especially Grandad with his bottle(s) of Merlot) and we always end up playing some sort of game, last year it was BUZZ.

Of course presents are nice, and this year, like any other, I have a huge wish list. I'm not too imaginative with my presents, I usually ask for one bigger present and lots of little things. Here's a peek at what I'm wanting. Really need the tripod so I can improve on the blogging front with more outfit posts. Then there's the markers for my Textiles work. Also, the new Ipod Nano with be my first ever Ipod! Can you believe it? Me either. Love a decent shampoo and conditioner now and then and I'm desperate for that Urban Outfitters cardigan. The rest are self explanatory really.
Christmas Wishlist
Good nosh is another crucial ingredient to a good Christmas. This year we're off to my auntie's for dinner so there'll be seven of us I think. The only bad thing about Christmas food is the inevitable putting on a few pounds. ah well, that's what New Year's resolutions are for.

And even when the excitement of Christmas Day is over there's still boxing day full of sale shopping and Turkey sandwiches and surprisingly bad TV. And of course New Year's eve to get very very erm... merry. :) x

Steady on

The Dinner Dance was a rather enjoyable night I have to say. Lots of alcohol was consumed. And lots of dancing was done. Whether on the dance floor or not. The music was pretty shit if I'm honest but what the hell. And thank goodness I took my own JD (yes, classy, I know!) because the place was so pricey. £2.20 for half a coke! Jog on.

Anyhow, here's some photos from the night. For some unexplainable reason as soon as alcohol passes my lips I have this uncontrollable need to pout in every photo, as you will see. I'm not usually a pouty poser, honestly! Totally forget to take an outfit photo before I left and there aren't really any decent ones but my dress was from Warehouse.

Hopefully putting the tree up tonight so might put some photos up tomorrow. Gosh Christmas is getting close isn't it. Haven't bought any presents yet. Argh! But there's only 1 week left till we break up from Sixth Form. Which means no more stress for a good few weeks. :) x

Easy now fuzzy little man peach

Apologies for the absence this week. Had a bit of a shit and stressful week thanks to Sixth Form. Had, and still have, way too much work to do. Also didn't really have to much to post about.

Anyway, here's what I wore yesterday to do some Christmas shopping (didn't actually buy any presents) It's all been seen before I think but never mind.

Jacket - Topshop
Shirt - Vintage
Scarf - Some market stall
Gloves - Tesco
Jeans - Topshop
Bag - Mam's when she was a kid (it still has the charity stickers she got inside it!)

Did buy some camel trousers from New Look which I'm unsure about and may be returning. Also got some flower hair clips for the Dinner Dance which is tonight. Looking forward to it. Should be a good night. Don't think I'll be going in tomorrow. Also have work today for a few hours, then I'll be doing school work, and hopefully posting a Style Snoop at some point.

Oh, and I'm pleased Cher's finally gone from X factor. I mean what was she wearing in the duet with Will.I.Am. Remind anyone of Old Gregg?

Ring-a-ding-ding

Yesterday I received my jewellery allowance for November (yes, slightly late) and ended up choosing 6 rings, 2 necklaces and 2 pairs of earrings (for my mam, i don't have pierced ears.) I have to agree that the jewellery maybe isn't as high fashion as Topshop and the like (I work at George at Asda btw) but it does have it's advantages. 1.) If you know what to look for, you can find some 'fashionable pieces'. 2.) It's ALOT cheaper than Topshop. E.g. A ring in Topshop would cost £6-10 whereas at Asda it would only be £2-5. Bargain ey. 3.) Finally, the whole world aren't gunna have the same jewellery as you so that's always a bonus.

Anyway enough of me rambling on, here's what I chose minus the earrings.

Silver 'Love' ring - £2.50
Silver knot ring - £3
Pastel flower ring - £3.50

Cream flower ring - £4
Tribal Stone Ring - £5
Cameo ring - £4.50
The Nail polish I'm wearing is Jermyn Street by Nails Inc, you know, the one that came free with Glamour magazine with the Rimmel Matte Topcoat over it.

Gold heart necklace - £2
Silver heart necklace - £4.50

Didn't do too badly did I? And next week, I have to do it all over again for December's allowance. How ever will I manage? x

Over and Over

Yet another day off due to snow. Zzzz. Kinda bored of it now, but I'm too used to being off. It feels like the Christmas holidays already. Here's what I'm wearing. I really need to get myself a tripod. It's on my Christmas list.

Jumper: Second hand from an auntie
Denim Shirt: Urban Outfitters
Leggings: H&M

Just realised that I never have shoes on in my outfits. Ha. I'll try to remember from now on but it's usually just my black brogues. x

Let It Snow!

Oh Gosh. December has arrived :) Not long till Christmas!!!
Had another snow day today so I've just been doing little bits of work again. I've had so long off don't think I can face going back to Sixth Form. Here's what I'm wearing today. x

Shirt: Vintage
Leggings: H&M
Cardigan: Vintage

Laptop has broken :( So I'm currently on a proper computer (it just feels weird) which has painstakingly slow Internet connection so blogging may not be up to much for the next few days. It also means that Textiles is almost definitely not going to get done as most of my work (I had actually done some for once) is on said broken laptop.
On the good side, had another day off today because of the snow. And apparently its supposed to get worse overnight, so fingers crossed for another one tomorrow. I could get some more Textiles done too.

Also, I'm loving Adele's new song. It's kinda different from her old stuff, more upbeat. Don't think this is the real video, its just some studio footage they've used until the proper one is released.

That's all for now. Back to Textiles. x

Emma Watson
Well, it only seemed right with the release of the new HP and all. With her being in the public eye for over 10 years from the age of 9, we've seen a lot and i mean a lot of bad outfits (I mean she was only 9) BUT in the past few years she turned into a bit of a style icon! And rightly so I think. She's a muse and model for Burberry and is a regular front row-er at many top shows at Fashion Week. More recently she's swapped her long curly locks for a cute cropped haircut, brave but it does work for her. Here's some of her best looks, (most of which are formal as I think she suits it better than casual style),and one of how she started out, just so you can have a little laugh compare. x

Nobody's gunna save my life

Managed to get into work today surprisingly and found that my jewellery allowance is due. That means £35 worth of jewellery for free! I'm not really a bracelet girl, I just wear my trusty Casio watch, so I mainly went for rings (which I am obsessed with) and a few necklaces. Also picked up a few earrings for my mam as I'd picked everything I wanted and I had about a tenner left over. Should be able to show you it all next week hopefully as the boss needs to sign it all off first.

In other news, still snowing! It's a shame we're already off tomorrow or we might just have been given a snow day. Fingers crossed for Tuesday.

Just doing more Textiles and listening to my new favourite song. Good video too, strange but good.

Sunday Style Snoop should be up later on today. x

Battling the blizzard

Top, Jumper and Boots - Topshop, Leggings and Trench Coat - H&M,
The jumper and boots are old stock from Topshop, got boots maybe 3 years ago and jumper last year I think. Don't know where on earth the socks are from, found them at the back of the cupboard. Think they were my brother's when he was doing the whole Duke of Edinburgh thing and bought loads of 'necessities' that he never used again.

Currently watching the snow fall down (yes, it's still going) and Fly Away Home, you know, the cute film about the geese or ducks or whatever. Today's mainly a do-as-much-textiles-as-physically-possible day. So far, not much progress has been made and the deadline is quickly approaching. :( Oh oh.

Oh and btw, I do realise that my fringe is getting way too long. Wish it didn't grow so bloody quick! x

SNOW DAY!

Okay, granted, it wasn't a proper snow day as school wasn't closed. However, our school bus didn't turn up and even though I could have walked up to the town in 15 mins and got a service bus, after standing for almost an hour in the blizzard I simply couldn't. So I went home, put on a baggy hoody, wacked up the heating, drank hot chocolate and prayed for the snow to stop so I could still go out tonight.

As for tonight, it's still undecided. The problem is getting the 'Birthday Girl's' house. She lives in a little town, to get to which, you have to drive through lots of country lanes and back roads. Fingers crossed, the snow will stay off, it will slowly melt and the roads will be passable. :D

What the hell, might as well show you what the snow looks like from my house. x

Ahhh

Last day tomorrow until Tuesday so I'm looking forward to a nice long weekend off Sixth Form. Its Fran's birthday tomorrow so Sixth Form shouldn't be too bad plus I only have three lessons. On the night, we're all meeting for hers for drinks then off for a posh meal then back to hers for what could be an eventful night.

I'm just wearing the same dress I wore for a party a few weeks back but I'm undecided on how to do the hair. Straight or curly? I'll just have to wait and see what I think tomorrow.

The rest of my weekend is most definitely going to consist of coursework, coursework and even more coursework as we have a Textiles deadline for next week.

Completely irrelevant but funny image - reminds me of 'those' girls at Sixth Form. You know who I mean. Tangoed! x

Off t' Yorshire like

Leeds was good. Went to see the brother who's living there after finishing uni. I love the place. I think I wanna go to uni there myself. It's not too big and not too small. And most importantly, the shopping is the best. Snapped a quick photo when I got back but I'm pretty knackered, and couldn't be bothered to stand taking a 'good' photo, so it's not the best. And excuse the facial expression.

Jacket - Topshop, Shirt - H&M, Necklace - Eclectic Eccentricity, Scarf - Vintage
Didn't get too much stuff mainly because my brother didn't wanna be trapsing around shops. Did get a dress for the Sixth Form Dinner Dance though which is a bit of a relief seen as though its 3 weeks away. Also got the Rimmel Matte Topcoat and Fran's birthday present. It's her birthday on Thursday and for some reason we have Friday and next Monday off Sixth Form so, Thursday could be a messy night. I mean, it is her 18th! So that's going to get me through the prospect of another boring week at Sixth Form. x

Time to do nothing

With no work left to do for Sixth Form, (apart from continuous never ending Textiles coursework of course) and all of assesments completed, I have nothing to do tonight. YEY! So I've just made a new page for the blog. It's my music playlist of what I'm listening to on repeat these days. I'll update it every few weeks or whenever I get a new favourite.

My favourite song at the moment is definately Sia - Clap your Hands. It was playing in one of Andy of Style Scrapbook's videos and I've had it on repeat ever since. It has a strange video like, so maybe just listen and don't look. :)

Slouchy Sunday

Didn't have anything planned for yesterday apart from lots of work. So after work (the other kind, the job) I just slouched around for the rest of the day. This included very small amounts or Sixth Form work, Sunday Dinner,Reading blogs, X Factor (why is Katie still getting saved?) and I'm a celeb. So overall a very relaxed and uneventful weekend.

I just had what I wore to work on, and then added a comfy cardi and a scarf. Perfect for lazing about. So, not a very exciting outfit post but I though one was seriously needed.

T Shirt: H&M, Jeans: Topshop, Cardigan: Vintage, Scarf: Vintage Rings: Matalan, Dorothy Perkins, Topshop
